Our Story

Bridgeway began in July 2009 with a simple but powerful idea: care should meet people where they are—and help them build the life they want. What started as Bridgeway Recovery Services in Salem, Oregon, with just 40 employees and a single location, has grown into a thriving network of eight clinics, serving more than 1,000 adults and adolescents each month and employing over 200 dedicated team members.

In March 2024, we became Bridgeway Community Health (BCH), a name that reflects how far we’ve come and where we’re going. Over the past 15 years, we’ve built a reputation for leadership in mental health care and addiction treatment. In March of 2024, that vision was expanded to focus on whole-person wellness—because we know that true healing goes beyond a single diagnosis or service.

At Bridgeway, we believe healthcare should be compassionate, individualized, and grounded in real human connection. That’s why we’ve committed to a trauma-informed approach that recognizes the complexity of each person’s experience. No two journeys are the same, and neither are our care plans. Whether someone is seeking support for mental health, substance use, or both, we meet them with respect, understanding, and evidence-based treatment tailored to their needs.

Our work doesn’t stop at traditional care models. From inpatient and residential programs to detox services and primary medical care, we provide a continuum of support designed to walk alongside people at every stage of recovery. We also partner with community organizations to extend care beyond our clinics—supporting individuals transitioning out of the criminal justice system and helping them rebuild stable, healthy lives.

Bridgeway: Freedom to Recover

We’re also committed to changing the conversation around mental health and addiction. For too long, stigma has prevented people from seeking the care they deserve. At Bridgeway, we actively challenge those perceptions by treating mental health and addiction as what they are: essential healthcare. Our clinics are designed to reflect that belief—modern, welcoming spaces where individuals can access integrated services under one roof.

For our employees, this mission creates an environment that is both meaningful and deeply rewarding. Working at Bridgeway means being part of a team that isn’t afraid to think differently, to challenge outdated systems, and to advocate for better outcomes. It means collaborating across disciplines, learning continuously, and making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

It also means being part of a culture grounded in dignity and respect. We believe that care starts from within, so we strive to support our team members just as intentionally as we support our clients. Your voice matters here. Your growth matters here. And the work you do here truly changes lives.

As Bridgeway Community Health continues to evolve, our purpose remains clear: to provide a comprehensive network of care that supports every step of the recovery journey. By combining proven methodologies with genuine compassion, we empower individuals to build lasting habits of health and resilience.

Because when people are healthy, communities are stronger.

And that’s the future we’re building—together.
