A New Chapter in Community Care: Bridgeway Opens Front Street Medical Center
With the opening of its new Front Street Medical Center, Bridgeway Community Health is expanding access to integrated, whole-person care—bringing key medical, behavioral health, and recovery services together on one campus to better serve individuals, families, and communities throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley.
On June 5, Bridgeway Community Health welcomed community leaders, healthcare partners, elected officials, donors, staff, and supporters to celebrate the grand opening of its new Front Street Medical Center.
While the ribbon cutting celebrated the completion of a new building, it also marked the beginning of a new chapter in how Bridgeway delivers care to the community.
For more than 15 years, Bridgeway has remained committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care for individuals navigating substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring health needs. As the needs of the community have continued to evolve, so too has Bridgeway’s vision for creating a more connected, accessible healthcare experience. The Front Street Medical Center represents the next step in that journey.
Built as an extension of Bridgeway Plaza, the new medical center creates a centralized campus where clients can now access many of Bridgeway’s core services in one location. By relocating the organization’s Medically Managed Withdrawal (MMW) Program and Primary Care Clinic to Front Street, Bridgeway has strengthened the continuum of care available to the community.
Rather than navigating multiple locations throughout Salem, individuals can now move more seamlessly between detox services, primary medical care, outpatient treatment, behavioral healthcare, and additional recovery resources—all within one coordinated campus.
This integrated approach allows providers to collaborate more closely, improves continuity of care, and helps reduce many of the barriers that can interrupt treatment and recovery. Whether someone is taking their very first step toward recovery or continuing their long-term wellness journey, they now have access to a more connected network of care designed to support the whole person.

A Vision Years in the Making
The Front Street Medical Center represents the realization of a vision that has been taking shape for more than a decade. Former CEO Tim Murphy envisioned creating a centralized healthcare campus that would expand access to integrated services while allowing Bridgeway to better meet the growing needs of the community. Over the years, that vision gained momentum through strategic planning, community partnerships, and a steadfast commitment to improving access to care.
As the project entered its final stages, Murphy worked alongside current CEO Dr. Carlos O. Texidor Maldonado to help guide the completion of the medical center. Together, they helped lead the organization through the final phases of planning, construction, and opening, ensuring the project remained rooted in Bridgeway’s mission while preparing the organization for its next chapter.
